Know Yourself: How to have confidence not be confident

The art of having/obtaining a characteristic or trait that is easier to adopt than being that thing because you understand that it doesn't define you and it doesn't automatically. No matter how confident you are, you're still likely to. experience nervousness in certain situations, but with a possession of confidence you can convince yourself to follow through.

Confidence on Google is defined as the following:

- the feeling or belief that one can have faith in.

- the telling of private matters or secrets with mutual trust

As a child, I was always quite confident in myself, but as I got older I couldn't access that confidence anymore. This is because having confidence in yourself requires you to have to be able to trust yourself by being true to your thoughts and feelings, and doing exactly what you say you're going to do.

The teens are such a weird age because it's when we find ourselves, but we're automatically put in a box. You can't express how you feel or what you think without getting into some kind of trouble.

Rather than being taught to express negative thoughts and emotions respectfully, we are taught not to say anything at all. When we react to a situation we're told it's wrong and the feelings that caused us to react that way are dismissed. This is continued at work, in further education, everywhere.

So how, after many years of being put in a box, can you climb out of the box and find your confidence: by building trust between your thoughts and actions. By fulfilling tasks set out by you, whether they're big or small, overtime you start to feel better because you do what you say you're going to do. This habit establishes a positive thought process because you feel like you can do and achieve anything - which you can.
